Eco-pack

Eco-pack: 100% environmental respect in a tray

Eco Pack: From eco-design to the redefinition of packaging through sustainable materials, the circular economy favors compostable materials that go back in the products life cycle or acquire a new life. Our innovative 100% paper recyclable tray stems from this belief.

Objectives of the project

Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all

Energy is central to almost all of the world's most important challenges and opportunities. Whether it is for work, security, climate change, food production or in response to rising incomes, access to energy is essential. Sustainable energy is an opportunity – it transforms life, the economy and the planet. That is why we are committed to using an ever increasing proportion of renewable energy.

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

Climate change is the most important global challenge we face. Emissions are generated everywhere and affect everyone. We want to use the right solutions to become a cleaner and higher performing manufacturer, in an ongoing process of improvement. This is why we are implementing all measures that can help reduce our emissions as a top priority.

Achieving sustainability has become a central issue of our time. The sustainable transition requires a well-rounded approach with sensible choices shared by manufacturers, distribution, and consumers. An integrated and supply chain approach that aims to promote innovation through an increased awareness that packaging is the first tool to avoid waste and food-waste.

Eco-sustainable packaging is a concrete response to our consumers’ need to follow a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, with an eye to nature and its defense.

For an Eco-friendly consumer conscious of the environment

The 100% paper-recyclable tray is the result of a complex research and innovation process that has seen several stages of development over the years:

  1. The first step was reducing the packaging itself by 18% compared to the traditional trays and to introduce a plastic tray that was 50% recyclable.
  2. The second step was the creation of a tray made of FSC certified and fully recyclable.
  3. The third step was the introduction of the 100% paper recyclable packaging.

The first tray fully paper-recyclable

Parmacotto Group is amongst the major players in the cured and deli meat sector to embrace a 100% paper-recyclable packaging, which confirms the Group commitment to sustainability and innovation. An absolute novelty in the sector and an important step forward towards environmental sustainability with the goal of "Carbon Neutrality" by 2025.

A pledge for the environment’s well-being is a promise for the future: it does not only mean protecting and safeguarding the planet, but also the people who live on it. This is the greatest responsibility we have to face. We want to set in motion a virtuous path by putting on the market, new packaging solutions already designed with their end-of-life in mind but without compromising the purpose for which they were meant."- Rocco Tridici, Sustainability Manager Parmacotto Group.
